Why we give to mental health charities | Nut and Noggin

Bit of a personal one today.

One of the questions we often get is 'Why did you create a business that gives back to mental health charities?'.
It's pretty simple.
Corporate burnout + grief = rock bottom. 😲
I'd worked my way up the corporate ladder, been laser focused on promotions, pay rises and people pleasing for twenty years.
Then the rug was pulled from under my feet; my dad died suddenly.
Sometimes, it's only when something so unexpected happens to you that everything becomes clear.
What was I doing in a job where I'd stopped growing?
Did my personal values match how I was living my life?
I couldn't answer these questions. 🤷
It took a year of learning about my own mental health through therapy, yoga, and research to help me understand enough to make some changes.
With help, I became an A student in how our minds work, how we can identify and change old limiting beliefs and move forward from difficult times in hugely positive, life affirming ways.
Inspired by companies like TOMS, which donates a pair of shoes for every pair sold to a child in need, I wanted to create a beauty brand that would give back to people in need for every purchase.
Choosing charities that help children and young people's mental health specifically really means something to Nut and Noggin.
Let's teach the next generation HOW to think, as well as educating them in more traditional ways.
Tools like mindfulness, meditation and yoga are all absolutely relevant for young people. They're being faced with depression, anxiety, grief - and all in front of a crowd on social media.
Giving to charities like Winston's Wish, The Yoga Therapy Foundation and The Market Place helps young people and children going through difficult times TODAY.
So thank you for all your help!
Enjoy a great week,
Rachel (founder @nutandnoggin) x
