Why do we need to create a better shampoo bar?

We set out to make the best sulphate and silicone free shampoo bar on the market.

But why bother?

We wanted to love switching to shampoo bars, we really did.

But we had some bad experiences; scarecrow dry hair, waxy residues, products falling apart in the shower.

When we investigated, we found that many shampoo bars on the market had moisture stripping ingredients like sulphates (SLS) and hidden silicones in them. Many have really weird textures and smells that we couldn’t get on with for long in our bathroom, let alone all day in our hair.

It became crystal clear: If we wanted less plastic in our bathrooms, we needed to create a better bar.

What are sulphates (SLS)?

Sulphates (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) are added to many shampoos and shampoo bars because they make them lather. Trouble is, SLS is a detergent and can be harsh on your head in two ways:

  1. It can strip the natural moisture out of your hair, leaving you with dry, dull locks
  2. Even worse, it can irritate your skin and scalp

We've taken out any harsh ingredients and created a shampoo bar that's high performance, mild on your scalp and plastic free.

Click here to give it a try.
